It isn't impossible lol.

It just turns into a range.

Not impossible - "just about" impossible. ;)

A range of more than one hundred or so would take quite some time to find, and that's assuming that there are posts on either side of the JMod's post which were posted within ~15 minutes or less. Much longer than that and the range of possible numbers gets wider, and less and less likely to be able to be found.

Plus, for JMod-only-posted threads there aren't any other posts on the thread to be able to even have a guess at the ID number (many of the locked/pinned threads in Community Home, for example).

Thus it can only end in one of the following numbers

Yeah true, but since that's not a JMod's post, we can also click the highlight button under Rooh's post and we're given the number for his post the end of the new URL - the 338403327.

You look at the time and go to a fast moving thread and narrow it down from there.

For kicks you can cross reference several fast moving thread. Ofc there will be times when there are a lot of posts made in several sections, like recent updates after an update, but it is worth keeping these forums in the back of your mind for references as well...if you absolutely have to.
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

See I didn't think about highlighting because I only ever do that as a joke.

Looks like we both walked away with a little more knowledge. :)
