Click for the Dropdown Menus on the Homepage - Website Navigation

Author:
Miss Misty
Summary:
Instead of using a hover system, there should be a small drop down arrow to make the site more mobile friendly and improve the convenience of using the site without menus popping up everywhere. This has been introduced for mobiles and tablets with the new site update, however drop down arrows could still be implemented.

PIN Code for the Site - PIN Codes

Author:
Lucine Sweet
Summary:
An optional ability to add a PIN to your account to protect your website logins. JAG doesn't currently protect these. This would cover account settings, billing pages and the forums.

~
Pros
~

Calm Enigma: "The more optional security, the better ^^"

~
Cons
~

Calm Enigma: "This is basically like having a second pass, so imo it should definitely be optional if done, otherwise it would be seen as a hassle for many I think."

Calm Enigma: "Too many passes can also get confusing ^^"

Calm Enigma: "Also, assuming the pass is entered in a similar manner to the PIN, it is likely that if your pass is hacked, your PIN will be hacked as well... [just speculation]"

Additional discussion on this made by D A S E I N and Miss Misty can be found here .

Toggle On/Off for Clan Information - Adventurer's Log

Author:
Vand
Summary:
It could prevent the harassment / targeting of players who may otherwise wish to keep their Adventurer's Logs public, for example, to show off the quests they have completed, their levels etc. Another option could be allow clan administrators to decide whether they want their clan publicly displayed or not.

*
Pros
~

Calm Enigma: "Those who do not wish to show their clan should not be forced to make their log completely private in order to do so. It's a more personal piece of information than the other sections of the log which, as you said, could be used to target/stalk players."

~
Cons
~

Calm Enigma: "There is currently a glitch where the clan does not show up on the log for any player at all. If this suggestion were implemented, it may be a good idea to state on the log that the person does not wish to display their clan. This way it can be distinguished from the glitch hopefully."

Calm Enigma: "Also, I think the other idea of having clan ranks deciding whether the clan is displayed or not on the logs of their members would be giving them too much control [and this is coming from a clan leader ^^ ]. Each player should be able to decide for him/herself how much privacy to display."

Less Frequent /Custom Log-Ins - Other (Account Info & Security)

Author:
The Seeress, Caeli Regina
Summary:
Change the way website logins work so that we don't need to re-log into the site when submitting a bug report or using the clan forums. Or provide an option somewhere where we can indicate how long we would like our blanket site logins to last. So long as account security is in mind.

~
Pros
~

Slis: "If it is not possible to show the timeout countdown from security perspective; at least re-direct to the same page with the forums post data still in the form, with an in-line error message: "Your session has timed out. Please log-in again' Pros: Saves all the data user has filled in. Particularly frustrating when you enter 1000 characters on a forum post and it gets lost because"

~
Cons
~

~
Notes
~

Miss Misty: No longer required to re log going to clan page, getting confirmation from other's experience.

Increase Concept Art on Site - Other (Media)

Author:
JOLLY ROGER
Summary:
Lots of concept art is being posted up on twitter but the latest one (top one) on the media tab under concept art are the citadel images. It would be nice to see more concept art that is uploaded onto twitter also uploaded onto the media tab under concept art, not just in the news feed as the Elf Design Documents have been placed.

~
Pros
~

Misty Fuzzy: Making the tab more useful as well as uploading more might make concept art a bigger thing on the site potentially opening up more competitions and interest in the art itself.

Toggle Members Only - Hiscores (Community)

Author:
Accomplishes
Summary:
Whilst it is nice to be able to compare rankings with all players, it would be nice to be able to have the option to toggle hiscores for just members as well.

~
Pros
~

Misty Fuzzy: Increase in member competitiveness, another goal to achieve and being able to compare with people who have the same style of playing (i.e access to P2P areas).

*
Cons
~

Calm Enigma: My only potential concern about adding P2P hiscores on top of the current ones would be development time versus usefulness. That said, I'm the kind of person who really isn't into hiscore ranks so I might be missing some important attraction of having this feature.

Misty Fuzzy: We would need to find a way to find out how many players would truly want this and whether it would impact anything a lot before really debating whether it was worth of development time or not.

Subcategory for In-Game and Launcher Bugs - Bug Report Form

Author:
Sliskay
Summary:
Option to select a subcategory for in-game issues and any bugs for the Runescape Launcher via the site bug report form.

~
Pros
~

Misty Fuzzy: No option to actually include in-game areas (apart from the few that are listed) or launcher issues making it difficult/impossible to choose. Adding these two would allow for a simpler and more accurate form.

Remove Subcategory Drop-Down when Clicking or Typing Elsewhere (Bug)

Author:
Sliskay
Summary:
If you type or click in any other field on the Bug Report form the subcategory drop down stays there. Could this be removed when typing or clicking elsewhere on the page?

~
Pros
~

SLISS-kay: Improve usability and ease of filling out the form if this drop down was removed.

Misty Fuzzy: It can get in the way and be rather distracting, no need for it to stay up permanently.

*
Cons
~

Misty Fuzzy: Keeping it up there does mean that a player has to choose a subcategory ensuring that Jagex will definitely get the appropriate title, if this was removed it might not be seen as important for players to select the appropriate title.

Save Display Names for Multiple Accounts - Acc Info

Author:
55five55
Summary:
For those with more than one account or people who share a computer to play, there could be the option for a drop down where you can select the display name to log-in with (still requiring a pass).

*
Pros
~

Misty Fuzzy: Allows for quicker log-in time potentially and saves the display names on the log-in screen.

55five55: "I've always hated having to write out full email addresses :P And if one log-in can be remembered I wouldn't imagine it would be too complicated to save a few :) "

~
Cons
~

Misty Fuzzy: Potential security risk, if the display name is saved rather than needing to type in the username, that as removed one barrier of security from the account, hackers now only needing to guess the pass, not both the username and pass.

however.....

55five55: "As for the con, hopefully you can trust the people who use the same computer as you ;) With the implementation of the Authenticator next week this will (ideally) be even less of a concern though ^_^
As long as there is an option to delete saved log-in names then I guess if someone doesn't want their friends/family to know their log-in, they could remove it at will :) "
