Saw this after I ranted out my post

Seeing more and more phishing websites is very concerning I realize with jag your vitually safe, but what is being done to stop these from coming into existance in the first place? These kinds of websites are decietful and should be against the law as it is against the law to collect personal information with out consent our private data like pass-words and personal data like IP adresses is being stored and recorded we need a website feature that lets up send jagex links to youtube videos/phising sites, so a team of dedicated ninja assassins can take quicker more effective steps to dismantling these crap waste of space websites!!

PAIN TITAN,

It is a shame that there are these awful hackers and phishing attempts ongoing but Jagex actually have provided us with some awesome information on harmful links and phishing via the support centre and you can also report any phishing attempts to Jagex on their email:

report*[email protected](*)m

You should also report it to any appropriate authorities and your email provider too.

To find out the information that Jagex has supplied, visit the support centre at:
services.runescape.c(0)m/m=rswiki/en/Phishing

as well as the below link for additional security threats to look out for :)
services.runescape.c(*)*/m=rswiki/en/Youtube/Skype/Live_streaming_links

So Jagex do have a team of ninjas that helps to stop this! I hope the information above helps. If you have any suggestions to make the process better, please post that here and hopefully the system to battle hacking attempts such as these can improve with time :)

Thanks again! ;)

On the adventure log I would like to see a high scores link to the account I just searched added to the "Private profile" and "non-member account" pages. It would save a few clicks and having to retype the name when I'm checking someone's stats. You might ask "Why not just go straight to the high scores instead of the AL?" and the answer would be there is more information available on the AL and high scores is more useful as a backup plan.

Sci,

Hi there! Mod Allstar and the other web devs are actually looking to improve the Adventurer's Log at the moment and have a sticky in this forum section that you might want to take a look at if you haven't done so already! I like the idea of a hiscore link in the Adventurer's Log and think it would be nice and easy. if it is there and we are missing it, it needs to be more obvious but I certainly couldn't find it!

I have added this in as a suggestion :)

Thanks!

This is kind of both website/forums.

There are a lot of forum subcategories but certainly less than there are different Jmod twitters reddits facebook profiles etc...
It is still tough to remember to constantly keep checking them all for new happenings besides some few forums you frequently check like RGU.

Simple idea:
Introduce a small menu to the main page with links to recent sticky threads.
Each time a new sticky thread is made in any forum, it will be put on the small menu.
It could hold a history of a week or few before having old ones wiped.
A similar front page feature should also be made available for links to important info given out by Jmods on social media.

Bobeme,

Thanks ever so much for posting, I would have responded earlier but myself and Calm Enigma were actually chatting about it then I had to shoot off. We were desperately trying to find some cons to make it a balanced argument but....well.... we couldn't find any!

Thank you for the suggestion, really nice idea. I shall add my pros, write it up and link it in for you! :)

Bobeme: Reduce the hassle of searching throughout all of the forums.

Misty Fuzzy: Important information would be noticed by all and new stickies would be easily available and recognised, ensuring all players who visited the forums had the opportunity to make sure that they could catch up with any news or important information.

Misty Fuzzy: The social media aspect could potentially bring together the forum and twitter communities, and ensure that players aren't excluded in terms of information purely based on the communication method they choose.

Keep 'Subcategory' dropdown blank, enter values in other field, click 'Submit'. It displays in red 'Rqruied field' but does not change focus to that field. For enhanced user experience, it should change focus to that field, IMHO.

The small red speech bubble does pin point the required field that you have missed out, how exactly would you improve this? :)

Click on 'Clear form' button after getting the 'Required Field' error. 'Clear form' should give user a fresh form, not the existing one with just the text removed.

I am not a massive techy so there might be some reason for this, if so please reply why, but the player only has to change the subcategory if they clear the form. I can't see why a fresh form would be needed unless this would make a technical difference, please post if it does!

Thanks again for posting your suggestions. I will add these along with the others and hope that Jagex like some of these ideas! Definitely have the potential to improve the usability of the bug report form :)

Thanks!

well, have you ever registered on any website, (imagine a rather long form with a lot of mandatory fields) and forgot to fill out a mandatory coloumn, and click on submit button. The good end-user experience would be that the website should hover over to that section of the page, and highlight it properly. Currently what JaGeX has is workable, but not so user friendly. :P

On the topic of 'Clear Form'. Again, i am thinking from a regular, non-geeky person's point of view. The expectation would be - when clicked - all the details/fields/dropdowns should be defaulted to their original values, and user should be able to view the form as if they'd just opened it again. Right now, it is just clearing the text field.

P.S. - Sorry for the late reply on my part, too. Been busy IRL. :)
