Is there a reason the Wayback Machine is blocked from crawling the RuneScape website?

It has been like this for as long as I can remember. This means a lot of interesting history could be lost to the ages. I know there are at least a few old news posts from late 2001 or early 2002 that I wasn't able to copy to the wiki.

I would imagine that the RS website is set to block crawlers to make it harder for people to just scrape it and set up fake phishing sites.
