Id be that one guy that would say, we don't need a new forum.

All that needs to be done is rewrite the system on the new infrastructure, and then add in some additional features. It'll be much faster, save money, and be easier to maintain going forward than getting an off the shelf system, or starting fresh from nothing. Less maintenance, don't have to program SSO ability or other features that'll break every other update.

After that, get a few simple tools added in such as thread subscriptions (instant gratification has plagued the internet, we dont need notifications on EVERY thing. Let users opt in and follow threads when they want).

Integrate the account's ignore list into the forum. Wouldnt make a separate one, seems redundant. If they're ignored, it'll show a hidden post. Cant see who it is or the content, cant open to view it either.

Then whenever the newsposts get updated, if they do, I'd look into integrating them into the forums as well to replace the news discussion/patch notes sections.

Use the multi-site/sub-language feature and separate the RS3 and OSRS boards, while having the joint-game forums appear on both boards. With multi-site, we'd also be able to give the OSRS site the old theme back, and then update RS3's to the newer style coming out.

Then reorganize the sections into their types like we used to have. ie- suggestions all together and not split btwn 2 categories.

Then Jmods just need to use the site. So there would be a big push to utilize the forums alongside all the other platforms we're told let them access from home, but never do at home and only at work...which is where the forums are only accessible from but never get used.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?
