Haha - they could certainly use some work
You have no idea how long this forum community has waited (you probably do, but I felt like saying that).
It's annoying that the wider player-base has not voted for a forum upgrade because they don't use the forums. There is an active minority of players who do use the forums and they should not just be ignored because they are a minority. So please bring us an update soon, or even better, a whole re-design.
I think that the devs should also consider why less people use the forums these days. I bet it's got something to do with the fact that they're horribly outdated and not very intuitive.
Support. I sound like a broken record so glad someone else said that for me.
^ Exactly what I was about to say, lol
Having a forum upgrade is a must and a Q&A just for Website & Forums would be nice to have
Good to see some jmod responses to this. I reread what I wrote on the first page and I sound really disillusioned with how they treat the forums. Hopefully if they do do a question and answer, they will provide some informative answers.

I truly wish I could give you more details right now but all I can say is we have never forgotten about the forums. It is still an area of the website we are very keen to update. It is a very large job with a lot of requested features. So if we did take it on it would still be a phased approach (much like the adv log was) and then we would add features as we go.
As for timing, it all comes down to prioritising. The majority of players voted in the adv log first so that took priority. Following that we have a few projects that are also equally important. We will do the forums eventually and we get plenty of great feedback that means they will never be forgotten. Committing to a time-frame is just a little too difficult though

To be honest it's no surprise that adv log had priority. The forums shouldn't have even been included on the priority poll in my opinion, it was doomed to be low on the priority list as only a small minority of players that play the game make up the forum community and would like to see them given some attention.
Thanks nonetheless though, it shows you haven't totally forgotten about them as many players fear. Also thanks for responding to my thread, it's always refreshing to the community to know there are jmods who still frequent the forums and respond to player feedback and ideas. It's much appreciated, please do keep it up.

Adv log is like painting over a crack. The crack is still there, but it looks better for a while.
In other words it won't be next year.
What do you think we can improve on it? (adv log)

Probably true but I am sure you can appreciate we have to cater to what most people want first. But as I stated we are always listening and always appreciate the forums - they are a fantastic hub for suggestions and feedback.

There sure is a lot of wasted space on the webiste/forums. There's about a foot of space on either side of my screen that is just empty space, with the forums centered in the middle. I hope you take that into consideration when you're updating.
Perhaps a q/a or poll about screen sizes, resolutions, etc. It seems like the forums/website are designed for a 4:3 aspect ratio, but how many users are still using a monitor with a 4:3 aspect? I would assume that most use something like 16:9, but that's just a guess.

I dont think we'll really look at making the "main" element any wider to be honest. Broadsheet style pages are not great for where we need to take our site. Long term we'll go responsive so we can accommodate for all our screen sizes but max-width will always be around 1000px.
