Does Yugioh have rotations at all?

kind of, we get an update to the forbidden list every march/september and a few cards either get changed from 0-3 (forbidden, limited, semi-limited, unlimited) copies per deck.

It depends how good the card is harpie's feather duster for example was in the first group of cards to be forbidden back in 2004 and has never come off the list since.

It keeps the game fresh and stops one/first turn kill decks.

lets hope that megalo gets limited, because ppl at both the locals i go to have been otked by them at least 1-2 times per tourney

Heh, at first I thought you were on about Pokemon, cause the latest set released in Japan was called Megalo Cannon.

Kinda cool how Yugioh is though. I can see why it overtook Pokemon in terms of most popular TCG. Then again, Pokemon has always been more for collecting than playing imo.

How expensive is Yugioh to play exactly?

it all depends on the prices of single cards, and btw megalo is mermail abyssmegalo
the card pretty much can be special summoned by discarding 2 water attributed monsters. then it gives you a free spell/trap that supports the archetype, then the sad part is you can sacrifice 1 water type monster and it can attack twice, because mermails are able to swarm the field, just from my own experiences, if your opponent gets 2 megalos out and you dont have anything to protect yourself with. your done for. i always get my mirror force, d prison, sak armor mstd or targeted by any other card destruction effects. so....mermails can be extremely hard to deal with

thx, and btw i have crimson blader so i should be fine. and is it possible that harpies will become a metagame deck anytime soon? like in the next format? also if i have divine wrath ready on the field, blaster wouldnt stand a chance, but then i have to make sure i have a card in my hand to use it. like ive said in this thread b4 ive never played against e-drags, im going to have to take an outlook at some other locals. at 2 of the locals i go to all they play are mermails evilswarms windups and inzektors+ dark worlds and lighsworns. few gadgets and geargias, but no e drags

Good way to play against e-drags is just download YGO i run into alot of e-drag decks on there makes it boring, more good counters against them is 'Imperial iron wall" effect is cards cannot be removed from play and all the big dragons of the deck need to remove monsters to activate their effects and summon. Another good card for e-drags is Mind Drain since it prevents card effects from hand activating. A lot of ways to get around them its just an OP deck. Last time i went to locals i played a mermail deck with my HERO deck and Elemental HERO Absolute Zero was the star of my deck :D . Macros cosmos is a good counter against mermails because they need to be discarded to the graveyard inorder for their effects to activate or soul drain.

All depends on what kind of deck you want to make, some are really expensive because of how good some of the cards effects are

hmm, so with both mind drain and imperial iron wall, it will immobilize e-drags completely? or theres a few other cards i should have to protect them both? such as imperial custom or so?

pretty much does immobilize them unless ofc they have a mystical space typhoon or a heavy storm or any way to get rid of 1 of those cards then they could get some plays off
