I wonder if the reason Europe gets the game slightly later is because of logistics in producing Amiibo, i mean sure the game hasn't actually mention compatibility with Amiibo yet, but they could be trying to maximize Christmas shoppers. it already happened with Kirby since the Japanese version of Planet Robobot has a full english script inside. at least it's less about competing with Fire Emblem and more like that they need time to produce Amiibo.

Alternately it has something to do with Dragon Quest VIII in America which was rumored to be around Autumn/Winter due to leaks. America just had Style Savvy 3 confirmed which means that Summer's release is probably Rhythm Heaven Megamix and the game codenamed "Torte City" is aiming for Autumn; it's likely Yokai Watch 2...

...Since they already localized Fuyunyan as Hovernyan, USApyon as Usapyon and Robonyan Model F as Robonyan F-Type because they used dual-languages (Katakana Japanese, and Localized English*) for their names in the Final Fantasy XIV crossover trailer where some of the Yokai appear as pets/companions.

* Names that were already changed retained the English names: so Fubuki-hime/Blizzaria, Kyuubi/Kyubi, Orochi/Venoct and Bushinyan/Shogunyan. they're probably going to replace the Taiko no Tatsujin Yokai in the english version of Yo-kai Watch 2 and replace them with the 2 Final Fantasy Jinbyan variants. they also would have to air more anime in Fall/Autumn as well as maintain Wibble Wobble. (a Phone game, but currently is capped due to not revealing Japan-only Yokai) Yokai Watch has been alive since 2013~ and only just got to the west since 2015/2016...surprised they're showing it much more love than Inazuma Eleven though.

In the past, they already tried to avoid competition, Nintendo handled western Localisations of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, but moved the game to avoid competing with Pokemon BW and moved Inazuma Eleven in the Summer so Disney could show the Anime for 2 weeks.

Unrelated. but they announced western release dates for Yo-Kai Watch 2 in the US. September 30th: Fleshy Souls/Bony Spirits. America is probably full to the Brim, unless N-Stars turns out to be a major Amiibo title. seems a bit bad that us in Europe has no real major titles though, even Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse is probably held back by Atlus-Sega negotiations. and im pretty sure no one cares much for Metroid Federation Force, infact they're probably releasing Style Savvy 3 in the US (after it's been in Europe for like a year) just to push Amiibo sales and to hope that fans of either crosspollinate and buy the other game.

Related: Next Months' Corocoro is probably just going to mention the names of Solgaleo/Lunaala. maybe possibly the justification for Ground and Fighting type icons datamined from the japanese website. maybe they'll show Magearna's special move in Sun/Moon and say something like being able to unlock it if you transfer Volcanion?
