would you like to read any of those posts targeting you? I know if it were me, I wouldn’t appreciate any of them

that's the point though, isn't it? If you don't want to be criticized, don't do or say stupid things

when it comes to toxicity, I very much doubt that the forum mod forum is as squeaky clean as they would like us to think and if that is the case, which it most certainly is, I think it's hypocritical to call the HLF toxic and worthy of deletion when there other forums equally as toxic.

Glad the decision has been reverted for now, but I'm going to ask this anyway: What would the point even be in closing this subforum? Seriously, who does it benefit and why did anyone think it was necessary in the first place?

Largely inactive or not, keeping this subforum open costs nothing and hurts no one. Just seems pretty harsh to consider removing it.

Because he thought he would be able to assert his very low level of power here to prove a point, and it backfired terribly. A literal nobody employed in a made up role on a terrible wage tried to assert the only power he has ever had and it failed because an action means nothing without a purpose. In a few years (or months, at their current rate) when Meadows becomes yet another anonymous ex jagex employee we'll look back on another underqualified, useless, out of touch Jagex employee whose time would be better spent washing the tank outside rather than engaging with a community that they do not understand.

When MMG was fired from the CEO position, he took the tank with him as he owned it. MMG has a personal hobby of collecting tanks, and the one which used to be in front of Jagex is now in front of his new company PlayFusion.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.

Also he doesn't really have "low level of power". He's a Jagex employer, he has more power than any of us, does he not? If he wanted to, he could still no doubt click a button behind the scenes and press delete on HLF: OT. Of course if he did, he'd be met with a lot of outrage on HLF Discussion and most likely Reddit as well.

All roles in a company are made up, but 'Forum Curator' wasn't made up specifically for Meadows... it's been around since day 1 of the forums. I wasn't around during the creation of the forums, but I know a Forum Curator role has existed since I started foruming in 2009, so no doubt one has existed long before that....

Also, I could be the minority with this opinion, but with the changes Meadows has done so far, I think he's already a far more memorable forum curator than any before him during the time of my forum use. There's only been 4 forum curators before him since 2009 (that I know of), and all of them did not do anything remotely positive to the forums, and in fact a lot of people despised them. I don't think he's really "out of touch" either, since he has posted on the HLF using his personal account long before even becoming a CM at Jagex, and has contributed to our community here and there. That's more knowledge/experience of the HLF than an employee which hasn't even touched the forums before, or played...

No doubt there'll be some more welcoming changes to the forums done by Meadows (or the LMods who are getting their JMod accounts soon), both behind the scenes and visible to all in 2019.

Still waiting for the day those awful FSRs actually get updated... :@

Well that might be true - who knows what's said on the FMods' hidden forums - us regular players will never find out. I can also relate to knowing something has been said about me on a forum section I cannot view, or defend myself on, which really infuriates me and I wish I could openly speak about it further or talk to someone about it...

What we don't know about won't hurt us. We don't know what's said on the FMod forums, so it won't hurt us. I'd say what was said on this thread about an FMod won't hurt that FMod as they don't have HLF access, but other FMods do who could share it with them, which would then infuriate them that they cannot defend themselves.

Was a nice 1 too.

I took that while I was at Jagex in 2013. ;)

Beleive it or not upto you.

But nothing goes on much in the F-Mod forum. We discuss rules or procedures and thats about it. We did discuss the forum make over in depth and I mean in depth.
