Not too sure... while there have been a lot of times in the past I've disliked and wish I could take back, ultimately those bad situations have lead me to where I am today and I'm really happy. If I could change what happened, I'd believe that I'd be worse off than I am now.

Hmm, you might also have some trouble changing the past due to the grandfather paradox >.< I feel the same way about things that happened and didn't work out the way I hoped. Something I think would be interesting is using the time machine to see how things might have turned out if something different had happened.

I would travel back to the 1980's and every 10 years I would travel 10 years back so I could live the rest of my life in that decade.

People were more friendly to each other back then.
Technology was advanced enough that I wouldn't miss anything.
And last but not least the music was amazing.

I wasn't around back then so I don't know what I missed out on >.< If I had a time machine I'd probably come and join you - a place with friendly people and good music sounds nice :3

I'd go far into the future, then come back to today with technologies that's thousands of years more advanced than todays.

Then I'd start my own company.

Another potential scenario is I'd take todays technology, all our libraries of information, and take it back to the time where I could teach people to read and write.

Then I'd come back to 2017 and just see how far humanity advanced in that time (but then the possibility is I wouldn't exist as I've basically changed the fate of humanity).

The first idea sounds interesting - I wonder what we'd be able to learn if we went forward in time, and how we'd be able to use that information :O

The second idea sounds cool too - would be interesting to compare the two timelines and see how things differ. If these early humans suddenly got access to all that new information, I also wonder how long it would take for them to get to a point that's comparable to today. Would it be possible for thousands of years of global development be condensed into just a few years or months? Also, history would probably be a pretty interesting subject to study if you had to deal with events that occurred due to time travel :P

Buy a stack of Bitcoins back when they were worth almost nothing and sell them today :P

That'd probably be a pretty good deal - the market cap of bitcoin recently hit a record high and is still rising :O This answer also made me wonder how much a time machine might be worth ;o

There is one particular event I would like to go back to and change but then what would happen if I fked the timeline? Would I just stay there and live together with my pastself? Or come back to 2017 which would be entirely different?
What would have happened with the old 2017? Would it just have been erased and replaced with the new 2017? Or would the universe split in half, like the old 2017 would split into another universe and I would be stuck with the new Universe? Everything looking so familiar but still knowing my real family is somewhere out there in another universe, thinking where I have gone to? Why did I leave them?
Slowly turning into madness, knowing my family is not my real family I used to know, going back to the event I changed and trying to stop myself. Telling my other 2017 self to not change anything and go back to his 2017. After that I too would go back to the future? But where am I this time? Is it the original 2017? Or the 2017 I created? Or a completely new, third 2017?? How would I know the difference???

Haha, you might want to have a look at the grandfather paradox and see what kind of implications that would have. In terms of what would happen, I can think of a couple of possibilities:
- The old 2017 might be frozen for you to return to exactly as you left it
- The old 2017 might have gone forward in time for the same amount of time you spent time travelling
- The old 2017 might have gone forward in time, but only a little bit
- The old 2017 might be lost forever (the exact one that you left, anyway)

There's probably a lot of other possibilities too, but those are the first that came to mind >.<

In any case, if you time travel a lot, I'm sure there'll be plenty of people wondering where you disappeared to :P

If you were given a time machine, I sure hope you'd have the option to go back to the point in time where you first entered the time machine, because it sounds like you could easily create a lot of really confusing timelines to deal with otherwise >.<

To the next level of time. After having made a full "orbit"
There where our world changes from beeing build from 3 spatial dimensions which travel through time in the 4th dimension, to a world that is build from 4 spatial dimensions that travel in time through the 5th dimension.

This is one way to solve the problem of infinity, even though you will still run into infinity in the end. There must be a way to let it all curve back into itself but I have not found it yet unfortunately.

(if you have not even the slightest idea what I am pointing at,which I do admit is pretty vague in this description, then this post was not meant for you)

In a world where time travel would be possible, but traveling back in time would completely overwrite the current timeline and all that existed in the old timeline would just dissappear like it never even existed. How would the laws of such world be?

Would the first and most important law be to stop traveling in time at all costs (including killing the person about to travel back in time) or would human lives still outweigh the risks of time travel?
Like Hiro from Heroes, he had the ability to travel through time, he didnt need a timemachine or anything. If the "timepolice" or whatever whos job is to stop timetravel ever found such a person. How would they stop such risk? They cant really lock him up since he can just travel back in time. Would the risk justify killing the person?
