(Note to my clannies: yes, there is a duplicate of this thread in our clan forum. You're not seeing things.)
I'm very fond of poems where the humour is derived from unusual spelling/pronunciation, such as the following:
A lively young damsel named Menzies
Inquired: "Do you know what this thenzies?"
Her aunt, with a gasp,
Replied: "It's a wasp,
And you're holding the end where the stenzies!"
Sue frowned and called me Mr
Because in sport I kr
And so for spite, that very night,
This Mr kr sr!
Does anyone recall any others?
I also like poems where the rhyme scheme implies a word that isn't said, usually because it's rude, although sometimes because the word actually supplied is meant to be unexpected. Can't think of any of those offhand, but examples would be appreciated.
New to the forums and already jumping in aggressively with a thread, hmm?
Congrats on your recent max btw. I'm not much for poems though, sorry :'/ If you see yourself becoming a regular it's hiiiiighly recommended you check out this thread:

Aggressively? "Trying to engage with the community" is how I'd have put it. Is there a minimum period during which I'm expected not to talk yet?
I may be new to the HLF, but I'm not new to the rest of the RS forums, nor to forum interaction generally. "Don't be a jerk" usually covers it.
Thanks for the link. I'll see what it's got to say.
Alright,
aggressively
"engaging with the community". I was just trying to squeeze in a congratulations, welcome, and recommendation for active forumers in one post
but it wasn't recieved that way, hmm. Oh well.
