This is shaping up to be a disappointing season for me.

So far, the only new shows I'm really loving are:
KADO: The Right Answer
Laughing Salesman New
Love Tyrant
Re:Creators

There are a lot of new shows that are kind of "okay" (Akashic Records, Clockwork Planet, ID-0, etc.), but very little seems to standout as something I'd say is an absolute must watch.

Glad that Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia are back. Sucks that AoT is only twelve episodes, but MHA supposedly being something like twenty-four makes up for it for me.

Watching Boruto as well, but I'm going into it with low hopes. Still kind of miffed about both the way the original series ended and the fact that this series is little more than a cash grab, but who knows, maybe Kishimoto will surprise me.

Attack on Titan episodes are really good so far. The only problem I have Hero Academia is that it has a 4 minute intro, very much like One Piece and it feels like it's a lot slower than it needs to be.

so far AoT2 has had something huge happen every couple minutes each episode it feels like
the fury one is scary. and i feel like with more and more people being able to transform, all these titans inside the walls with no bodies, and that ones dudes titan mom it is likely every titan was human

Re: Creators is excellent, especially loved the magical girl being shown some truths and having to accept that the world isn't all flowers and sunshine after being brought to the earth. Other than that this season is a bit of a let down aside from the sequels of BNHA and AoT. Sakura Quest is pretty cure, Saekano is about as bland as the previous seasons :/

So far my season looks like:

Berserk - 7/10, great show, epic fights, accurate to the manga, but animated like sticking my cgi dick in a pencil sharpener so I had to knock the score for it.

Boruto - 7/10, it's a good show and interesting to see how the characters I've spent 10+ years watching grew up and who ended up with who and what their kids are like. Probably going to get annoying once it gets swamped with filler.

Danmachi Gaiden - 8/10, fun to watch, warm and fuzzy when it wants to be but also hype as shit and gritty when the time is right.

Eromanga-Sensei - 9.5/10. If "My little sister can't be this cute" was something you liked, or would have liked if it was done better this corrects all that with the exception of the main character being completely and totally oblivious. But the show is genre savvy enough to call him a "light novel protagonist" so I only took off .5 of a point for it. Hilarious and charming to watch with a mild dash of fanservice.

Granblue Fantasy the animation - 7/10 I picked this up because it is animated by a ton of people that worked on Final Fantasy but I've noticed the show itself has the feel of the game Skies of Arcadia.

Quan Zhi Gao Shou (The Kng's Avatar) - 10/10, Korean show about pro mmorpg players and what the best one does after he is forced to retire in crummy circumstances. FANTASTIC show, easily my top pick this season. Gritty realism about how much life can suck and yet lighthearted and fun gameplay with rules that make sense in the game they are playing. Unlike sao which completely ignores in game logic and Log Horizon which is completely bound by it in incredible detail this has imo the perfect middleground. It takes me back to seeing Dot Hack for the first time except executed better.

Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records - 8/10, It has a few stupid premises you need to get over, like the fanservice based school uniforms and that evidently no one has properly researched magic before, but other than that

it is a really great show with a lot of emphasis on looking out for your juniors and some great laughs. Upset they came really close to a fantastic show but bungled it up by getting carried away and not doing the world building a bit better.

Shingeki no Kyojin S2 - 9/10. HYPE HYPE HYPE DEATHHHHHH HYPE sadness HYPE MORE DEATH.

Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? - 9/10 13 boss monsters attack the earth and 13 humans fight them with swords that get more powerful the less you value your life. One man defeats one of the demons and gets put into a cursed sleep with his body all screwed up as the cost for the spells he used. He wakes up 100 years later and humans are extinct with various animal people and fairy children in their place. The children are trained as weapons and are probably going to be take some losses. Right now it strikes me as a version of Akame ga kill that doesn't suck. I love the way the MC looks out for the girls.

Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho - 7/10 Witches are being hunted and they don't like that so they are fighting back big time. Some humans are born as powerful beastmen as a result of a curse and one such beastman encounters a young Witch that hires him as her protector in exchange for giving him a human body at the end of her journey. It's a very warm relationship they develop with her loving to sleep in his fur and generally antagonizing him by treating him like a big stuffed animal. But a lot of intense stuff happens in the show like prejudice against the witches, wrongful convictions, burnings at the stake, human villages being destroyed by angry witches, beastmen lashing out for how they were treated growing up, ect, ect. Overall definitely worth a watch.

The atmosphere of the recent aot episode was done so well. The way they executed that whole scene was amazing.

WHEN MIKASA JUST IMMEDIATELY WENT FOR THE KILL ON THOSE TWO ALL "STEP AWAY FROM MY HUSBANDO" IT WAS PERFECTION!

And the previous episode with Historia cheering to bring down the tower in her ripped skirt... completely knocked it out of the park for me.

One thing I thought was dumb though was I believe 2 episodes ago when they were like "That guy's almost as strong as Levi!" and then he immediately died because he decided to shout and give away his chance at a surprise attack and just wait for the titans to get to him before dying miserably. Like... what the hell was the point of that???

Overall loving this season.

The atmosphere was amazing along with the swift action scene. This is one of the many reasons why I think so highly of Attack on Titan.
