I thought it would be interesting to have a thread in HLF about what we believe some of the biggest global issues are, why they're not yet solved, and what we think could or should be done about them.
If you like having structured questions, this might a nice way to start:
What do you think the top 1-3 biggest issues facing the world are, and why haven't they been solved?
I personally think that increasingly intelligent AI is not too far into the future, and is going to cause some major disruption. If humanity doesn't make it there then I'd guess it'd be because of some kind of nuclear disaster. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Here's some hot topics from the news lately: climate change, gender equality, risks from AI, nuclear security, poverty, health, and more...

Carrie Fisher is dead and they haven't even started filming Episode VIII which she was supposed to have a starring role in.
Aww, It's really sad to see such an iconic actress pass away
I was quite surprised when I heard the news because it was just a couple of days after watching a star wars film where they used CG to recreated another deceased actor...
It's always sad to find out when someone who was well known passes away, like Robin Williams, Alan Rickman and Gene Wilder...
Is there anything that can be done to help people live a longer and more healthy life?
Cardiac arrest, dementia, pancreatic cancer, and alzheimer's disease are the causes of the deaths above...
humans, no matter how hard you try, there will always be people trying to take advantage of you and pulling you down. How many countries are out there where people take huge advantages of other people instead of attempting to create equality and bring everyone forward as a race
It seems like WW3 is starting, looks like we'll have a nuclear war before the end of Easter.
If the world happens to be wearing a sign of life, we're back to the biggest problem facing us all, the variation in the quality of broccoli from week to week.
Something needs to be done about this as I really like broccoli.
Seriously though, scary times, we keep repeating the same mistakes, nobody is prepared to concede enough ground, I'm very depressed (& scared) about the immediate future of the world.
