CPU, CPU cooler, thermal paste, motherboard that has a compatible socket for your CPU, power supply, graphics card, SSD/HDD, Case, RAM and an optical drive if u want one of those

choosemypc.net is a decent site to use (You don't have to buy the exact part it recommends such as the case, find one that suits you). League and RS shouldn't take a whole lot of computing power so i would say 500-750 range is good just don't get an SSD (it isn't necessary, just nice to have).

So is there any other suggestions people have?

I plan to just...

Play league of legends
Runescape
Discord
Skype
Youtube/chrome stuff
Minor recording
University work

and have it last like 5+ years.

Are you interested in overclocking? Overclocking is when a user modifies the processor's multiplier to get a clock speed beyond what was set by the manufacturer of the CPU. I.e. a CPU clocked at 3.9GHz out-the-box can be overclocked to 4.6GHz to get even more performance for practically nothing. It comes with its risks, but it usually goes well. It is a bit more expensive though as you have to buy a processor with an unlocked multiplier (K processors) and a Z series motherboard if going with Skylake.

If going with the overclocking route, you'll need an aftermarket cooler and possibly more additional case fans to aid airflow. Personally, I would get an aftermarket cooler even with a non-K processor for the mere fact of lower temperatures and less noise (if that's something you'd prefer).

If not interested in overclocking, the i5 6500 build is a good start. The first one has a dual-core CPU and while that CPU is good, it's not exactly future-proof and will struggle in more CPU-bound applications. It'll also show signs of struggle during multi-tasking workloads (gaming and streaming).

I would also bump up the RAM from 8GB > 16GB

Consider getting a secondary hard drive to store other stuff as the storage on the SSD won't be enough to last you a long time. The WD Blue 7200RPM HDD is a good choice.

If budget allows, get the NZXT S340 case (non-elite or elite if you can afford). This case is great for its price.

You may want to consider getting a better GPU if your intention is playing games at higher settings @ 1080P 144Hz.

The IT ppl told me that my setup is fine for basic gaming (which all I do is league and RS)... I may do Over Watch later... They told me maybe adding a HDD more memory and a better power supply... Also how do I get windows 10?...

I do not think I will overclock it. I just want to run league at 150+ FPS and not frame drop. I don't really care much for graphics as long as gameplay is not affected.

Any other tips to fixing this one?

You can get windows 10 for free, only thing it restricts is customization and you have a watermark at the bottom right of your screen. As for a power supply you should go with 600 or 650W, 1TB HDD should be fine and get 16GB of RAM instead of 8GB. Also, when you hook up to that monitor don't forget to use DVI or Display port and plug it into your gfx card not the motherboard!

How do I dl windows 10

For the RAM I will upgrade if needed

Why is the power supply at 600 important if it not need it to run this comp?

For the HDD I will use the SSD bc it is faster and get an external 1 TB to hold files since I do not have big files. All my files fit on my 4gb flash drive lol
