I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 laying around which was passed down to me (it used to be my daily driver before I got my iPhone). The Galaxy S2 was just too much hassle for me, the stock ROM was okay but after I found out about custom ROMs I put that on (CyanogenMod I think it has) With or without a custom ROM though, the Galaxy S2 is just not for me; it overheated (i changed the battery and it's battery life was still bad), sometimes I wouldn't be able to open apps like the Camera for instance (happened on both stock and custom roms).
I do like Android in that it's more customiseable than iOS but I still prefer iOS. iOS is much easier to use and it just works, not in the way that I would never consider an Android phone again. From my experience though, I know Android phones work too but it's an OS that's not made for me.
