Can I add you on my PC
well I DO have a gaming computer!! You would be proud!! I will post exact specs when I get it, actually I'll just post a pic of it and the specs
"Why are you posting threads, asking questions and making discussion???"
and since you derailed this thread Joe *ahem*, what computers games do you recommend to test out my "gaming" pc
? I hear GTA is a popular choice, skyrim?
I'm a starcraft guy... and I'll probably play the original homeworld which could probably played on a toaster lol

Lmao, I was only kidding
- But all I really play is racing games. I played a fair amount of GTA, but the Online (which is where I spent most of my time) became overrun with modders so I haven't played in a couple of months. - If single player is entertaining enough for you, by all means do it.
What games to get depends on what you like - I personally really enjoyed Tomb Raider, but it only took me around 15 hours to complete it all.

If you like Skyrim you will probably like The Witcher 3, too. Games like Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain are also pretty popular (calling Lust) - Personally never played either.
Rocket League, which I'm sure you've heard of, is also pretty fun. Batman: Arkham Knight is also fun, however its performance is... Less than optimal, even after they removed it from the Steam store and readded it the other week.

Question - one of my greatest appeals to console gaming are the use of, for example, xbox one controllers. They just seem very ergonomic and intuitively designed, the vibration effect works well with most games... do PC gamers just connect similar controllers or-- what do you do?

If you have Windows 10, all you have to do is plug your Xbox controller into your PC using a MicroUSB > USB cable, and that's it - Everything works just as it would on a console.
If you have a version of Windows before 10, you'll have to download the drivers - http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-on-windows/accessories/connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc - And then plug it in and it'll work just fine
(Ignore the whole "+ Cable for Windows" thing, it's nonsense)
I personally used an Xbox One controller up until last week, where I picked up the Elite controller, so now I use that
