I'll be posting the explanation and rules for the HLF competition later today, so keep an eye on this thread. There will be a few changes compared to the Euros competition to reduce the workload for me.

HLF competition explained and rules added (posts 4-5)

Two different systems will apply:
-Group phase: max. 1 point to be won per game (96 pts from 96 games)
-Knock-out phase: max. 3 points to be won per game (87 pts from 29 games)

The system for the knock-out phase is exactly the same as the one used during Euro 2016. That system will be re-explained in this section during the winter break.
For the group phase, you do not predict scores
, but only winner/draw/loser by using colour codes, as exemplified below:

-
Basel
– Celtic [-> Basel = winner]
-Basel – Celtic [-> draw = no winner]
-Basel –
Celtic
[-> Celtic = winner]

You will get a point for each game for which you correctly predict who will win/lose/draw, regardless of the final score. By posting a prediction for any game in this way, you automatically participate in this HLF competition.

Before participating, make sure that you have read and understood all rules in the post below.

Reasons for 1 point per game in the group phase:
-If we were to predict exact scores already, it would take a lot longer for me to update the hiscores.
-To give late entrants in our competition a better chance
-To prevent that there is a winner before the winter break (96 Vs 29 games)
-To simulate the CL; let's keep it exciting till the end!

-The schedule (post 2) serves as template. Copy-paste it directly and add a colour
-Do not add the Wednesday games to your predictions for the Tuesday games
-On Tuesdays, only copy-paste and make predictions for the Tuesday games

-Do not post predictions for the Wednesday games before or during the Tuesday games

PREDICTIONS

-To make it easier for me to process your predictions, do not add scores [group phase]
-Only one prediction per person per game
-You must group all predictions for that day together in 1 post
-Predictions must be posted before the start of each game
-Predictions must not be edited during or after the game
-Predictions must be your own; do not post on someone else’s behalf
-Copy-paste the template (schedule) and use the same colour for every game
-Related to the above, do not switch game order and/or club order ; stick to the template

Please respect all rules so that it’s lot more convenient for me to update the hiscores.



REWARDS


Due to forum and in-game rules that prohibit gambling, there will be no prizes to win. This competition is just for fun.

CL begins next week. This is a reminder that there will be a competition, so invite your HLF friends to participate. Hopefully around the same number of people as during the Euros will end up taking part. :)

Tottenham's group is fairly open so while they do have a decent chance at advancing they could also easily end up being knocked out. :v

Also for the competition do you want all prediction for the round in one post of separate ones for tuesday and wednesday?
