I would like to suggest a toggle to keep quoted imaged as links to prevent page spam with the same image.

Don't embed duplicate images option, sounds good.

I think I'd make it work across the page as a whole, so even if they weren't quoted the no-embed would still apply. Quotes are the main area where this occurs, but might as well cover everything.
