Said before the tour started, dont expect Hazard and Fellaini to do well
Ireland definitely succeded in slowing the pace of the game
De Bruyne has played well tho
And that was very unsportsmanslike by Hendrick
Not getting a goal before half time was disappointing as a neutral watcher, dont expect the match to open up :p

Just got back from work - was the game as comprehensively won by Belgium as the scoreline suggests?

When it gets to 3-0 I assume the Belgians essentially dominated.

1 point in the bag for me so far, today!

Their defence was decent, but it was more Ireland not being precise enough and having a couple of bad touches that could have lead to bigger chances, atleast in the first half. When it's 3-0 at 70 minutes you expect both teams to resign and call it a day though. Ireland opened themselves up for a short period and that was enough.

Belgium dominated, but didn't create enough chances in the first half. Overall slow ball circulation, but that's because the Irish were defending with 10-11 men most of the time.

After the 3-0, Belgium switched to energy-saving mode, much like Spain did yesterday. I had the impression that Hazard was sometimes running in De Bruyne's way and that Carrasco seemed to be nervous (poor ball handling every now and then), but all in all, good performance by Belgium. Not perfect, but good enough to get far in this tournament.

Keep in mind, this Ireland beat Germany and rarely conceded more than 1 goal in the qualifiers, so this was more than decent by Belgium.
