Visited a friend yesterday and she had a bulldog/rottweiler mix puppy was super energetic and cute. She put it in another room and it instantly started crying, was really cute lmao
looked something like this but bit more grey

Aww! that's cute!
they are usually really energetic, I think you have to expect that with most of the bigger dogs, and some of the smaller
I've had two of them myself and they're amazing dogs
~on a side note I nearly got knocked over by one of these a week ago or so

Puppy Version Yay! (and far less likely to bowl you over)

My best friend had one of those in high school. He loved wrestling and they get pretty big lmao, was tons of fun and when he got his fur cut for summer he looked really funny (but shed way too much)
I think pretty big is an understatement LOL especially up against me that dog came up to head height once it jumped up on me. The owner got a bit of a fright because it was off its lead and it doesn't usually come running up apparently lol
Their coat is absolutely gorgeous and they're so fluffy, it's almost like having a tame-bear wandering around just a smaller version
but as you said they shed a ton which is
waaaaaaay
too much maintenance unless you keep them cut back pretty short but then you've got to be cautious because some breeds coats don't grow back properly
But overall I think labs or retrievers are best overall dogs for family style etc.

My childhood friends had a pair of golden and chocolate labs.
Was funny cuz they had an older smaller female dog, and one of the labs was a male, and he learned how to go pee from the female dog and never learned how to do it properly, it seemed like when he was with other dogs they looked at him funny when he went to the washroom lmao.
I would too, I just don't have the time for a bigger dog and it wouldn't be fair on it. My yard also isn't that big so the space provided wouldn't be fair either.
Labradors and retrievers have always been seen as a family dog I'd say, probably due to the fact they're in so many movies (Just look at Air Bud)
LOL well at least he probably never peed on anything then if that was the case
The other dogs were probably just extremely confused lol "You realise you're a male right?" -headtilt-
lol Nah runs in the family, all the girls are small
Although on that note, I've never understood why nobody likes to take the "runt" of the litter, always seems to be the last to go.
Kovu was the "runt" of his litter and he has done nothing but thrive, the only real issue I've ever had with him is he doesn't seem to put on much weight.
