Drugs are any substance/checimal that alters your body. Sugar is not a drug. It falls under the same category as food, having a trivial effect that would otherwise count for making it a drug.
close but

That's exactly what I said in different words. Did my wording not please you?
Granted, drugs always alter your body in a physiological manner, and MAY (or may not) alter you psychologically as well depending on what physiological changes occur.
When you're addicted to something, there's always a biological component, and a behavioral component.
For example, when I play RuneScape and accomplish something (i.e., a level up), and as a result of that dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for reward (as well as other things) will be released and give me a sense of pleasure. This conditions me to associate playing RuneScape (behavioral) and gaining levels and xp with a pleasurable feeling (biological). RuneScape wouldn't be called a drug, but it has the same effects of drugs in terms of rewarding a behavior.
You become addicted to sugar the same way. You eat the sugar, your body metabolizes the sugar and makes ATP and as a result you have energy; without sugar you wouldn't be able to survive. So when you eat sugar you are rewarded with a pleasurable feeling which encourages you do it it again. I wouldn't call sugar a drug though, as it doesn't really alter anything. You just extract the energy from the sugar and use it.

We would be better off without all 3 but I can't not like sugar so I'll say we would be better off without nicotine and caffeine and with only small portions of sugar. There are 0 reasons we need the other 2 and to an extent processed sugars as well.

Bro. Wikipedia says wikis can be fine sources bro. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki#Trustworthiness
Wiki answers is not trustworthy but articles within wikipedia are usually fine unless you are writing official papers etc.
