"One of the JMods on Twitter said that only 1% or so players did the full 72 hours, or even did over 60 hours during previous DXPW's. They came up with the 36 hours over 10 days as it promoted a game play flow of around 3 and a half hours per day of gameplay - which is far more healthier than promoting 15 hour+ days over a weekend for 3 days..."

Healthier, but also more fun. In a totally unscientific study of my clan, quite a few did 36 hours (or more) this extended weekend. Very few did 36 hours under the old format (never mind 60 or 72). Why? Almost everyone gave the same reason: 10 or 12 or more hours per day (especially on consecutive days) just isn't any fun.

According to their data, 11% of all player logins did 36 hours and 47% of them did 18 hours or less. Jagex can and does create statistics that are biased in order to push their own agenda.

If they only included times of players part of the 'active playerbase' and not include the massive load of people who only logged in to runescape for a couple hours because they heard it was dxpw, the percentage of people who used all 36 hours would be much much higher.

Sure its probably still a buff for most people compared to the old system but to interpret this statistic as 'only 11% of active players averaged less than 4hrs a day for those 10 days' is complete crap since the dxpw casuals + peoples alts + ironmen totally skewd the data.
