I know I don't have a great grasp of English, I speak American - which is notably different from the language Jagex speaks.

https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/c=vwcN6rh-pLU/double-xp-weekend-extended (fill in the blanks that the filter is going to take away.

It says, at the end of the fourth to the last paragraph:

Alternatively, if you prefer, you’re free to enjoy Double XP Weekend just as you always have done! It’s entirely up to you.

So if I understand this. We get 36 hours of DXP if we spread it over 10 days, but as I've always done, I get 72 hours if I do it all in the first weekend.

That is what it says, right?

No. This was clarified on Twitter by a JMod stating that you won't get 72 hours if you grind it all out, it'll still be 36 hours no matter what.

Original message details are unavailable.
If I skill for 72 hours on the weekend, will I still get double XP?

Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.

Jagex have a responsibility to their players not to encourage that kind of insanity.

Why you still care about xp beggers belief.

This.

One of the JMods on Twitter said that only 1% or so players did the full 72 hours, or even did over 60 hours during previous DXPW's. They came up with the 36 hours over 10 days as it promoted a game play flow of around 3 and a half hours per day of gameplay - which is far more healthier than promoting 15 hour+ days over a weekend for 3 days...
