I am amazed that Jagex is planning a DXP period so soon after releasing a new skill.

For ordinary players, many of us don't have 200m in the skill yet. I'm not a dedicated archaeologist, I still like to do other activities in the game.

So we're heading into a DXP period, that counts down the DXP time whenever we're logged into the game (game, not lobby). So if we choose to continue our Arch training, we simply lose the dxp time. right?

So how do we get a hold put on the DXP timer, if we're standing in an Arch area?

All xp gained in the last 5 minutes (or since login) should be Arch xp (and no XP gained from other skills (can't have abusers doing low xp skill gains, trying to delay their timer).

I know there will be problems... like we need a cut diamond for some restorations, and people might only have uncuts, so suddenly they cut a diamond while doing Arch, but that crafting xp turns their count-down timer back on.

So how could this work?

I was just looking at my in-game guy. and I see that I'm holding my augmented crystal hammer, with the Wise Perk. Since I'm doing Arch, the onscreen icon that displays my xp % earned isn't showing.

So I think the mechanics to keep the DXP timer from counting down, if we choose to do Arch is already in place. The same way the Wise Perk is kept from showing, is applied to the DXP timer, and keeps it from advancing.

Problem solved. DXP and Arch can coexist

With stuff like tomes, challenges every day and the crazy experience from the artifacts, who needs DXP anyways. The skill is already crazy experience.

I'm not suggesting we get DXP for arch. It's when we do Arch during DXP we lose time, for other skills, that aren't crazy exp.

Don't change anything for me. DXP-extended is so we don't have to play massive amounts of time, all at once. You know binge-playing.

I'm going to have 99 Arch, and be done with the skill later today. How? For the last several days, I cut my sleep down to 3-5 hours, and have been playing a massive amount of time. You know, binge-playing. Exactly the thing the extended DXP is designed to stop.

But we gotta do what we gotta do. Binge play now, so I don't have to binge play later.

I consider the skill insanely slow. Only reason a bunch have 200m is lockdown everyone playing 10+ hours a day. Its only fast with tony's + bis perks.
I need my blue charms back.
