Hey Kags,

It's not good, and I don't know how to improve on this properly. I've gotten to terracotta territory through luck I think, but I'm getting a bit tired of the constant sub-40% voyages I keep sending out. Do you have any advice for me? (Have 4 ships)

- Regardless how low the success % is, keep all ships sailing 24/7 as much as possible (but wait for proper crew configurations depending on voyage requirements).
- Even if the ship fails, you still get 100% distance gain for failed voyages.
- Even if the crew dies, well I'm going to replace ALL of them anyway.

- Focus Loop region.
- First, get enough Terracotta for Loop region rudder upgrade. Then buy 4 TCM.
- Ideal Loop region crew, for you specifically , is 6 Loop MCS (Morale/Combat/Seafaring each), 4 TCM (Terracotta Merchant), 3 Wisp. Loop crew costs Terracotta to buy btw.

- Get a 5th 10K chimes captain (temporary 2.5K chimes until you see 10K).
- Get (full) 25 crew first before dismissing any crew. You only have 20 atm.
- You have 13K available Stainless Steel - use ALL of it to temporarily buy Pincers region crew for now.

Dismiss your crew in this order as you buy the recommended Loop crew:
- Arc region crew: Varrock Chef > First Mate
- Skull region crew: Firework Enthusiast > Eastern Guides > Siren Whalerider
- Hook region crew: Blazing Lantern Clansman
- Scythe region crew: Explosive Expert > Card Sharp/Crows' Nest/Cartographer > Bureaucrat
- Bowl region crew: Firework Maniac > Farcrier/Bounty Dog
- Pincers region crew: last to be dismissed

Repost your crew roster and port score page after you have completed all of the above. O_o O_o

=== Patch notes on 10/23/17 ===
- The Trapper from player-owned ports now correctly shows as unlocked in the skill guide at 90+ Hunter.
- Players now have a higher chance to receive the lifeboat reward from the Player-owned Port Seasinger Umi and Black Marketeer events.

- Fully recharged scrimshaws will now stack in the bank with brand new ones.
- Surge and Escape are now usable during the global cooldown period, similar to Bladed Dive outside of PvP areas.
- Seagulls on the Port Sarim docks now drop feathers.
- The bonecrusher upgrade can now be bought from Boni in Waiko without owning a bonecrusher as part of the Arc achievements. Players still require the original bonecrusher from Daemonheim in order activate the effect.
- A right-click option has been added to select the destination on various fairy rings throughout the game world without having to first visit Zanaris.

Pirates Finale, Grandmaster Quest, Pieces of Hate - Reward Design (CLICK HERE)

My suggestion ;) (page 11 in the link)

The new mysterious pirate from the Eastern Lands could introduce us to a new Player Owned Ports crew member:
Mos Le'Harmful Merchant

Possible stats:
750 Combat, 0 Morale/Seafaring, Merchant trait +35% (Shield region tier)

Comparison to current best merchant in Ports, Terracotta Merchant (TCM):
650 Morale, 0 Combat/Seafaring, Merchant trait +33% (Loop region tier)

Mos Le'Harmful Merchant
wouldn't replace TCM entirely, since TCM would still be extremely useful endgame in any voyage that requires Morale, but not Combat - TCM would still have multiple niche uses (Morale-only, Morale/Seafaring, and certain Morale/Combat/Seafaring voyages). TCM would also be unlocked earlier, in the Loop region (7th zone), while
Mos Le'Harmful Merchant
would be unlocked after Pieces of Hate grandmaster quest and in the Shield region (8th zone).

Question:

Do you have a table somewhere showing statistics for the different levels stepped through by the top-tier captains, or at least their preferred trait stat at level 10?

Thanks

Every time a crew member or captain levels up, they gain +10% stats to their original base stats on hire. At level 10, they have exactly DOUBLE the base stats they were originally hired with.

Morale captains should have x4 Leader traits (+4% Morale to ship total).
Combat captains should have x4 Tactician traits (+4% Combat).
Seafaring captains should have x4 Seafriend traits (+4% Seafaring).
Speed captains should be dismissed.

===== Section 56: Leveling Up Crew & Captains =====
Every time a crew member or captain levels up, they gain +10% stats to their original base stats on hire. At level 10, they have exactly DOUBLE the base stats they were originally hired with.

XP needed to level up (Cumulative XP)
Lv1: 7 (7)
Lv2: 14 (21)
Lv3: 29 (50)
Lv4: 50 (100)
Lv5: 100 (200)
Lv6: 200 (400)
Lv7: 400 (800)
Lv8: 700 (1500)
Lv9: 800 (2300)
Lv10: 1700 (4000)
Total XP required from Lv0 to Lv10 is 4000

=== Standard Voyages at Max Speed (Resources, XP) ===
Bamboo (20 min): 7 XP = 0.350 XP/min
Gunpowder (48 min): 11 XP = 0.229 XP/min
Slate (1 hr 36 min): 17 XP = 0.177 XP/min
Cherrywood (3 hr 12 min): 29 XP = 0.151 XP/min
Jade (6 hr 24 min): 53 XP = 0.138 XP/min
Stainless Steel (8 hr 00 min): 65 XP = 0.135 XP/min
Terracotta (9 hr 4 min): 73 XP = 0.134 XP/min
Azure (10 hr 40 min): 85 XP = 0.133 XP/min

=== Very Long Voyages at Max Speed (Trade Goods, Scrolls) ===
Skull (Scrolls only, 1 hr 12 min): 16 XP = 0.222 XP/min
Hook (2 hr 24 min): 25 XP = 0.174 XP/min
Scythe (4 hr 48 min): 43 XP = 0.149 XP/min
Bowl (9 hr 36 min): 79 XP = 0.137 XP/min
Pincers (12 hr 0 min): 97 XP = 0.135 XP/min
Loop (13 hr 12 min): 105 XP = 0.133 XP/min
Shield (13 hr 44 min): 108 XP = 0.131 XP/min

Maximum XP from a single voyage = 108 * 1.1 (Rallying Cry) * 1.5 (Lotus Tint Spectacles) * 6 members (5 crew + 1 captain) = 1069 total XP

The full XP amount is only awarded for successful or partial successful voyages. Failed voyages give 1 XP to each crew member and captain.

I've just unlocked The Scythe region after being on The Hook for almost 3 weeks (Don't do ports as much as I probably should be) but I immediately went back because I still haven't finished the slate upgrades - problem is I only get above 80% for maybe 1/10 of the slate reward voyages. 2500 slate away from buying the Renovated Office, I have everything else unlocked with slate minus the portal.

My crew roster:
https://gyazo.com/ba18716acaf674c3d885691118a9c709

I check the crew roster every day and in the last 2 weeks I've only seen 2 Feral Chimeras.

I just feel like I'm missing something - I've failed so many missions (haven't lost any crew though) because I rarely get missions I can do above 80%.

RS Mobile should help out with doing Ports when its released next year. :P

I wouldn't worry at all with the success % chance or # of failed voyages. As long as you have been following sections 21-24 word for word it will be fine. Failed voyages give 100% distance gain anyway.

No need for portal upgrades until you are at endgame Ports and decide to buy Legendary Portal.

Since you have unlocked Scythe region, buy the rudder upgrade 1st. Buy 4-6 Scythe region crew - train them up in Hook region as you gather Slate for remaining upgrades. Don't buy any more Feral Chimeras - you have unlocked Scythe region, so aim for Sea Witches.

You didn't follow section 23 exactly: Renovated Office > Refitted Workshop > Refurbished Warehouse > Renovated Bar > Renovated Lodgings. Renovated Office should of been upgraded much earlier than the other buildings.

Take a picture of your Captain Log's Port Score page - but I think all the advice is already given for now.
