I'm struggling even with the new changes to familiars. Hoping someone finds some miracle method that cuts this down although I can tell it's also luck of what monsters you meet up with in the Rush of Blood. Personally I'd like to see less Airuts & Glacors.
I tried it last night, with a Steel Titan. I can only say that this familiar is
horrid
. It is attacks are very inaccurate (especially on TDS/Gano's), and slow. It is distracting and barely helpful.
I was hoping I would adjust my guide to emphasize it is usage after the Familiar's Update, but it is not going to happen, sadly. I highly recommend using a Nihil and the rest of what I suggested in the Guide, and NOT a Titan.
All the best
(Some people will disagree with me, I know that, but I did better, and even succeed with the D&D; without a Familiar to begin with.)

I have removed the 2nd suggested Familiar off the guide, being Steel Titan, for the reasons explained in the above post.

I've been following this thread quite closely since you made it and intend to look back at it when I get around to doing RoB, but I'm having a hard time believing this? I can't see the titan really slowing you down, esp since the update (if it's anything like it was in the livestream that is. I haven't actually tried it myself). Set spec attack to 1, bring sum pots, put them on bar and just "spam" that key? Comparing to not having a familiar active, I really can't imagine this being slower :x
You need to be
very concentrated
during RoB. The Titan is slow, unresponsive, and
very inaccurate
. Having to up it is special points, watch it is special points, and potentially tell it to attack monsters; will do nothing but waste you precious bits of time and concentration that you much rather spend focusing on DPS'ing in the most efficient manner, without distractions.
I tried both, the Titan and the Nihil. The latter worked better for me.
That said, if people believe the Titan is better, then I can never stop them from using it, but as for this Guide I made myself; I'm not going to include something that I believe will worsen the performance.
Hope that cleared it up
.

If you use revolution with a good ability bar setup you will still do decent enough DPS and have plenty of attention to give to the titan. That's my personal opinion on it as it seemed to work rather well for me post-update and was still significantly better than a Nihil when using t80.
Ofc it all comes down to what you're comfortable with. For those who don't know how to DPS well, I'd say solely relying on a Nihil would make it extremely hard, especially where TD's are involved.

For the Nihil, would the scrolls be recommended or not? The pouch is very expensive compared with a Titan, so I'd rather not turn them into scrolls unless I had to.
