You never know about some people's RNG. I've never gotten a helm or zpear from Kril and it took me over 5x the drop rate to get a Dragon Rider Lance, some people aren't the 'average' person @Chee__RS

For hood, you could replace it with Ahrim's, for gloves and boots you can replace it with lunars, surely you have no excuse to not have lunars. The armour bonus from a tank gear won't affect your kills much, only reason to use it is if you're really struggling on food, and in that case the first option should be to use debilitate and devotion more often. °l||l° Modest Skillers T7 Citadel | Skilling clan recruiting players. °l||l°

Haven't really maged it, since the first few kills (and was only using chaotics, at the time, and had no idea what I was doing, as never use guides), however, I'd say that if you don't mind which leg pieces you're getting when maging, then the middle path seems the easiest to start using mage with, till you get used to it, after that, the AOEs are very good for path 1 (and they come with built-in debuffs/buffs - not sure, from what Urek said, if this has changed, but blood barrage was definitely healing me, when I was using it, back then - may have just been from the minions).

I've nothing more useful to add, but everything else has been covered by others, far better than I could.

Edit: On re-reading, it turns out he does mention blood barrage working, I had missed that paragraph.

@Urek, thanks for the pointers :) Some responses ^_^

Tank gear - I've got a subj hood but not managed to get the boots or gloves yet (only do kril if I have a slayer assignment which is not very often). I've got ragefires and no spellcaster gloves (used them all up already) so I figured might as well just go for 3 tank pieces and get the defensives boost for more devotion. Might switch to subj hood, but tbh I've got the teci to spare so I don't mind wasting charges. Not sure if subj hood is really going to make me kill rax far faster.

Perks - Completely agree about crackling 3 being on armour. However, I don't want to augment my seren legs because I like being able to slay/afk mage stuff with the non degrade. Could switch over to an augmented garb instead but the phaff of getting the components for a minimal difference makes me question if it's worth it. Aftershock 3 will eventually replace crackling 3 if I ever manage to get another lance, which...screw RNG.

Super prayer renewal - Noted, will look into this. Thanks!

Excessive restores - yes, most likely. I've always done the 3:1 ratio on brews to restores, hence their appearance in my inventory and then I usually have the renewal for slower drain + prayer potion which I actually dip into when I need to top up prayer. I get prayer potions quite easily from corrupted stuff so I don't want to switch to renewals which are more of a ballache to gather.

Mobile on shield - this is only because it's the same shield I use for solo bt at bm. Don't want to waste tokens on another t80 shield, so it's not that massive.

Allahu spider - yeah, agreed surging would be better. Only drawback is usually when I surge I end up walking rax a few steps away, meaning that he runs out of acid before phasing meaning more wasted time. Cade just means quicker phase, although I potentially lose more time by not having adrenaline...

Second bar is just standard defensives - I listed all on there :) And deflect curses, no reflecting :)

I do have lunar, although I still question is it worth it (would t60 power gloves make any difference in the overall kill?).

You don't need to use the 3:1 ratio if you use overloads. Just make sure you don't spam your brews too much (you can still do it together with food to prevent a death, but this may cost a couple seconds).

I typically bring 2 restore vials, with one being as low as 1 dose (whatever is left from last kill, I just make sure I have 2 restores in my inventory) and use a renewal at the start (it's a super renewal but honestly the instant restore is wasted). I also use a replenishment pot at the start of p4 but there's no guarantee it will restore prayer because I typically brew to max hp during the cutscene and follow with a restore or two.

In short 5-6 doses of restore with renewal active are plenty for me and I will never bring more than 8.
