It's not a question of legally obligated to do anything. That would not be discussed in these forums. It's a question of precedence. Will they, or won't they. If they don't offer, and we don't ask - chances are good it's "won't they".

I'm simply an adult able to comprehend my own choices and take responsibility for them.

No amount of semantics changes the fact that you don't own any part of your account. Not only does Jagex have no legal obligation to grant you any sort of refund, but they have no moral obligation either. Once again, you agreed to the terms of use which explicitly state you would own nothing. You can't now come to the forums upset when Jagex finally uses that authority that you granted them to do something you don't like.

Start reading the Terms of Use before "buying" things. Now with added

I'm not asking for a real-world refund. I'm asking for in in-game one.

In the game, we buy and rent stuff. So in the game, when buying stuff is altered, refunds have been given in the past. Just not this time.

Take your terms of use, and toss it out the window. That's a r.w. thing. Now let us go back into the game.

No one here thought you wanted Jagex to charge back your credit card. We all assumed you wanted in-game compensation of some sort.

Refunds have been given in the past. And refunds have also NOT been given in the past.
I didn't get a refund for every aura I had already bought when they went on sale last January. Where's my refund for the Bank Boosters I bought that eventually became free? No one is getting refunds on all of the Solomon's General Store items that go on sale or become free every month. Why should you be any different? What makes this one time special and nothing like the other?

It's funny how you think the Terms of Use don't apply in game... That's kind of the whole reason Jagex can tell players who lose items/progress to bugs that they don't have to give them back. Not only do you have no claim to your account, but you have no claim to anything on it or anything it does. So yes, you have no claim to the Bank presets or the Runecoins/Loyalty used to buy them. You have literally no leg to stand on in this one. Now with added

Them giving out free presets doesn't affect me either since I also bought them a long time ago. I just don't have the elitist mindset that because I bought something 3 years ago, now someone else 3 years later should have to as well 'or I should get my money back.'

As I said in my previous post, the opportunity for you having those presets far outweighs the lack of opportunity for people who didn't buy them, regardless of cost. Ability bars, presets, wealth evaluator, etc. All of them I bought (with Bonds in-game), all of them should have been free. Do I suddenly care that Jagex is giving them out for free, which is what they should have been in the first place? Absolutely not.
