I've always used melee. It seems faster, to me anyways, but it will be at a disadvantage to range if you're on a path with another person. I just always went on my own path if at all possible. RSC - Gone, but never forgotten.

I've always been using magic since it has dragonbreath and other nicer abilities though it takes 3-4 hits to take down some of the high lv. monsters. I might switch to range or stay maging.
