You can turn the VIP badge off if you want, click the star in top right of chatbox. I believe this also turns the blue star off in-game, not sure if you can have 1 on and the other off.

It took about 20 minutes for Aby's to appear, so maybe yours will disappear after around the same amount of time.

E: Just realised I've got about 10 spoons in my bag from bringing yoghurts and not taking spoons back out my bag at home..
