Not necessarily true.
AMD's 8 cores were not actually 8 usable cores. An 8 core AMD processor would have 8 'cores', however, 4 of them had to wait until the other 4 were done before they could be used (I believe this is how it works in simple terms?)
8 AMD cores = 4 "modules", each module has 2 cores, however those cores could not work simultaneously... Basically.
A 4 core Intel would beat an 8 core AMD processor honestly.
AMD are actually stepping up their game and producing an 8 core 16 thread processor as well as a 16 core 32 thread processor in early 2017 (probably), so pretty excited. Maybe I can spend even more money on more cores I won't use.
