During (and currently) my month in China, like 60-90% of buildings didn't have AC we're used to, they just used electric fans.

I think the place I stayed in went up to 40° C on the second floor lol, absolutely burning. You couldn't use the restroom or brush up without sweating. Thankfully the bedrooms had AC to set to 22-25° so there's that.
