I suspected somethin similar when I had a black drag task, decided to KBD it. Didnt bother with instance etc, went there, surprisingly quiet for a good while, then dude comes in and tries to take him on with melee, Akhet just pew pew before can do anything. Comes back later with 2 buddies, but I scared them away as well SOMEHOW. Dunno if that was an attempt to crash etc, may have happened at other slayer spots too.

Coulda just instanced, but, I was able to hold me own, and did the task without havin to pay the mysterious Instance Government any taxes, so, yay!
