Oh, for sure the community is horrific.

Honestly, I find the EoC community just as, if not more, horrific than the 07 community, but that's just me.

Depends, I guess. You'll get frustrating (for lack of a better word) in every gaming community, in EoC it'll tend to be elitists, whether that be with PvM or skilling, and you get the same in 07, too. But 07 tends to have, in general, more idiots.

Without really knowing what you mean by idiot (I find idiots and elitists to be one in the same, really (at least, most of the time)), I can't really comment much on the matter.

But, when someone immediately starts trying to crash you in a Slayer spot just "cuz they can" (and EoC being stupidly broken doesn't help that it creates a bottleneck in most Slayer spots), that is what I have an issue with.

If you take elitists and idiots to be synonymous, then 'idiots' just means elitists, along with other generally frustrating members of the community (an umbrella term for all the deplorable people within a community), of which 07 has more than EoC, in my opinion. I play both games.

My point was that you find slayer/skill crashers in both games, but under the umbrella term 'idiot', which can include things like scammers, beggars, trolls, etc., 07 has more.

Not saying EoC is exempt from these, only 07 has more.

I hope that clears it up. :)

Which, personally, I attribute to that with EoC, A LOT of people are maxed/near maxed (No, I don't buy lolits2016everyoneismaxed bullshit), and that in and of itself is a deterrent of sorts in keeping degenerate behavior out of the game. 07, on the other hand, is a lot more dispersed in levels, meaning people are more likely to act likes degenerates because they're not losing AS MUCH (Not saying it's a rule, but from what I noticed in observation). A lot of the higher levels in 07 are more alike with their EoC counterparts than what is lead on.

Yes, it sounds weird as hell to place the basis of behavior on level, but when one really begins to think about it, it starts to makes sense.

Oh, I agree to an extent. In EoC, you don't really find level 85 slayers with chaotic weaponry crashing me at say, abby demons or celestial dragons. It's not, in general, in their locus of thought that making me hop would be worth it because maybe they have a clan avatar on that world that they want an xp buff from, or that I may be impacting their xp/hour rates, and so forth.

Certainly, as things such as xp and gp become more prevalent as sources of motivation and desire for people, the scope of what they're willing to do to preserve it, even by the smallest margins, simultaneously increases. Thus you have the transformation from blissfully ignorant slayer, training simply because he likes the skill, or has some sort of goal that makes hourly xp rates reasonably irrelevant to him (presuming he even sees the game in this way at that point), into someone who is willing, at any cost, preserve the fluid way they're gaining xp/gp.

Part of the reason people don't crash at the level I indicated is perhaps also because they couldn't, by which I mean out-dps, etc. But they could grief you at least, and they tend not to.

So there is a sort of correlation, but it's not exclusive to this.
