I don't turn public off because when skilling sometimes people will try to talk to you, and if you don't respond you get called a bot, et al. Once when firemaking someone started griefing me, burning logs in front of me to try and 'break my bot' (me playing the game). When I turned public on and queried him, he was obviously too embarrassed to stop doing it so in the end I had to hop.

Like, I know I'm there at my computer, not botting. But it's a paranoia that reports may get racked up against me etc., that for some reason just makes me feel more comfortable replying.
