I think generally because it feels pretty long and tedious the FIRST time you do it.. And not many people actually go back and do it a second or third time. Secondarily, trying to do it without a guide would be impossible for 99% of the player base lol. That being said, even with a guide, some people are very bad with directions and if they misplace a mirror it can really be a big time sink.

All that being said, its really not THAT bad once you've already done and experienced it once. Same with EW3 and whatever other quests people absolutely loath.
