So those pictures, minus all the merchandise?
Yeah, it's pretty much 5 rows of chairs which people sit on facing a tv and you check you number. Your item magically comes rolling down a conveyor belt from god knows where in the back
We have something similar to that here in NY, but it's called B&H, it's not really a warehouse (I'm thinking Walmart or CostCo from what you're describing), but it does use the conveyor system.

I'll give you a detailed guide to making a purchase at Argos
You search the catalogue for the item you want, and once you have located the said item, you use the remains of what used to be called your fingers and input the item number on this:
Once you have done this, you wait a couple of seconds and you can find out whether you are actually be able to purchase your brand new item
If so, you note down the item number on a small blue piece of paper with an even smaller pen (which doesn't really matter since you don't have fingers anymore):
You then take the piece of paper to the "order desk" (or to this machine):

Input your item number, pay and then you will be given a number. A voice will this number at some point in the near future - it could be hours, or even weeks, meanwhile all you can do is stand like this:
