How many Mammoths do you get assigned? My average task is around 30 of them, I hardly ever get assigned 40+, and yes, that takes around 2.5 overload doses - They have hardly any defence compared to Airuts so you can deal insane DPS.

When I do decide I am bored enough to do them, I get assigned like...35 (though I never really do them for the reasons I described regarding Airut and Kal'Gerions)

I don't gain combat xp, I was comparing Slayer vs Slayer, since, if you are Slaying, you are probably going for Slayer xp. Is that not a fair assumption? If not, disregard my points :)

Well, now I see why you'd call Mammoths great. But, those with 200m all combat is very thin to be honest, so it's not really *that* applicable of an argument. Kal'Gerions are considered "bad" (a better word would be inefficient) because they offer too much slayer exp:combat exp. Mammoths actually give MORE Slayer EXP than cb EXP, which would make them considerably more inefficient than Kal'Gerions.

Even then, one has to consider that in terms of input, Kal'Gerions and Airut don't really require much in terms of gear/inventory setup.

Mammoths are good xp and good gp

I mean, if you compare them to Gargoyles and Dank Beasts sure, but they miserably lose to Nihil, Runes, etc etc etc (not making that list again) at least in terms of GP, and I said in terms of EXP, they face very stiff competition from easier and lower level monsters that don't require much in terms of input.

And my main point Mammoths (and Rippers for that matter) is that for them being "elite" and "high level", they're highly underwhelming when you compare them to things like I mentioned on all three sides of the spectrum (Profit, Experience, and Input Required to receive the former).

Special comment on Rippers:

with the prices of a Claw drop now, you'd be making 15x more profit killing Tormented Demons in the same duration of kills.

Around 2x as much getting gloves/boots from Automaton/Glacors

etc etc etc

In essence, Rippers are objectively not worth it for money. At all.

The amount of people slaying to be "efficient" must also be pretty low. Mammoths offer a great balance of Slayer xp and gp, which is why I think they are a good task. They're high intensity compared to almost every other monster which is what makes them "Elite", and they're really fun to kill, but it's a bit stupid making a high intensity monster when every other monster is so afk with revolution and auto refill cannon, I guess that's the real problem here.

You are still comparing Mammoths' xp to one task, and their GP to another, which is the mistake here - They are a balance between both (somewhat slanted towards slayer xp, though), which again, is why they are a good task imo.

Everything being stupidly afk and then releasing something that's meant to deter from that was never going to end well, I guess.

I got a main- and offhand ripper claw in 2.1k ripper demons and sold them for around 25m each
This clearly means their drop rate is 1/1050 and worth doing!

And I didn't like Mammoth in the few tasks I recieved and have no reason to kill them either.

My friend list did that too when I kept it open to check, but usually I don't have it open (it's bound to a key so I can open and close it when needed). I can see how that'd be annoying though. :/
