Got to try in order to get good.

Go in with a positive mindset and willingness to improve and you will "get good". I used to be like that with Araxxi, wanting to get good extremely quick and when it didn't happen (aka kills went shit), I ragequit and gave up. It doesn't work.

A lot of people don't even give PvM a proper try -.-

They just constantly go, "I'm not good enough for it. I'm bad." and when you ask them about it..they say "I went for a couple of trips and failed badly! :( ". Well, of course you would! No one gets instantly good overnight.

A lot of bosses in-game rely on knowledge of mechanics and experience. Get them and you can do any boss comfortably, really. Quick reactions DO help but I don't think they're essential.

I find myself with a similar attitude. I find myself semi demotivated when people talk about certain things being "So easy" and "All you have to do is ....." and then when it doesn't come all that natural to me I end up stop trying. Even in private instances where I know nobody even knows Im there or is judging me, I still get feelings of inadequacy. Maybe I need a dream mentor quest for me and not that noob Cyrisus!

I think we need more threads about the beginning struggles of learning content. Even if it results in some of the elitists posting random stuff about how they do 4 minute araxxor kills since kill 3, more people admitting that there are beginning struggles could be motivating for a lot of other people and encourage them to keep going and keep trying. Ultimately though people need to keep practicing and not get demotivated over struggles, even if it takes mental gymnastics to get over feelings :p .

Yeah, I guess it doesn't help that some of the good PvMers make it sound like it's all easy and if you don't get it done, you're stupid. That's not the case, though. Those people have been PvMing for a very long time and obviously started off like everyone else that's new, bad. However, in order to reach their level, you have to stay motivated and actually try.

I had a similiar mindset way back and it's the reason why I neglected Araxxor for so long.

"OMG people kill Araxxor with ease and I'm dying 24/7?! I can't even do Araxxor! I suck at pray switching it" - little did I know it was just because I wasn't used to that level of combat. Surprisingly, you realise you adapt and actually find it easier than you thought..

Recently though I took a new approach and have noticed that the more kills I do, the better I get. I accept failures now and try not to rage when something goes wrong. :P

I find myself watching a ton of twitch streams where good pvmers are doing the boss I'm trying to learn. It's helped me immensely I'd say.

Unfortunately getting good people to share their beginning days seems unlikely. It's all about who deals the most DPS and so on. They all want to sound amazing at what they do - sharing bad experiences will just make them look bad (in their eyes) and they can't have that! Because that'd actually show they possess nothing special, just the ability to learn and stay motivated long enough to reach that level of "prowess".
