I'm going to suggest that any forum bans resets the users' postcounts on that thread to discourage spamming, banter and flamebaiting, which will revolutionise the forums and result in only quality posts from everyone.

That would clearly be a slap in the face to each and every forum veteran making them quit and show that Jagex only cares about new customers!

Think of the consequences (the forum activity might drop from ~100 active users to 50)!
