I went through that as well. Although for some reason my face wasn't very swollen. It hurt inside and would get worse before sleep but other than that it wasn't that bad.

Also before the procedure, the dentist surgeon prescribed antibiotics + analgesics and I think that helped to an extent. Oh well, I guess we all react differently to stuff.

p.s: You'll get better with time! Give or take 2 or 3 days. Take care and stick to soft foods.
p.s 2: Don't forget to keep the area clean and brush SOFTLY and with extra care. (I had an awful blood taste for days, regardless).
