Get some little bits and bobs to work on while you do "social" skilling, I learnt to solve rubik's cubes, and have them ranging up to 7x7x7 now, with 3x3x9 and some 12 sided ones. Can be pretty fun to solve to pass the time if you don't cheat and look online. (They're just a tad expensive.. :p)
