Always wondered, do peeps that like sports like football like it when there are peeps commenting over the game, especially sometimes when they go 'off topic' as it were and start going on about the individual players and the like instead of what they're actually doing on the pitch lol.

I think they did that with the olympics. Like the gymnastics bit: 'Oh here comes the brit athlete, let's talk about her complete life story from the beginning, oh...what's that? Ah, seems they're already finished'

And then someone from another country does their bit, either go dead quiet, or still ramble on about the previous ones that participated lol.

It depends, in football off topic commentary is fine if they are good commentators. So they'll know when to go a little off topic. Obviously if the game is exciting it'd be annoying, but when the game seems to be relatively boring, I don't mind them commenting on players/other games/future fixtures etc.


I'm not sure I'd miss commentary if it was taken away though, I've been to something like 200 games in person and I've never stood/sat there and wished there was some commentary for the game.
