They are exactly the same as a normal animal for breeding purposes. Their only advantage is that they give 10% more XP at each growth stage, and acts as a wild card for the preferred breed when selling for beans. Also, shiny Zygos and shiny Chickens are more valuable since you can obtain achievements from them if you re-roll to the required trait and name.
Who knows though, Jagex may add more achievements in a later update, making other shiny breeds have value over their usual Adolescent value, or for those that want shiny animals for fashionscape. They may also make shiny animals more useful for breeding, time will tell.
