Over the past few weeks we have been looking at how we currently do community management and how we support you. While doing this it became apparent that there were some things that we were doing which would either be better done by other teams or didn't have to be done at all. The outcome of this is that we have freed up a lot more time to focus on supporting and engaging the community.
So, what can you expect from us?
Well, what you should notice from us straight away is that we will be a lot more active on the forums. You will also see more unique events coming out which will help players engage with the new updates as well as popular pre-existing content while making sure we cater for all areas of the community.
Naturally, the changes for Community Management have meant changes of personnel within the team. We have some really exciting and excellent new talent joining the team which will help us achieve our goals and help you enjoy our games more. You will probably see some names in there that are unfamiliar such as Mod Baker011 who has joined us to lead community management into this new era. Mod Bartie and Mod Keildest have also just joined us to give better support in their specialist areas while helping out Community Management as a whole. All three bring a wealth of experience to the Community Management team which will benefit everyone.
There will also be some names missing from the list above which some of you may have expected to see. For example, Mod Chrisso and Mod Dowd who have moved into the Anti-Cheating Team to add their specialist community knowledge to help take out the botters and other cheats. Mod Paul M is also missing from the list above as he continues to champion the community from within the Marketing team while Mod Hohbein is now working with our advertising team to help expand the community.
All this has caused a lot of excitement within the team and we are really pleased to be helping move the community forward.
So you can get to know us a little better, we will each be posting an introduction below.

Hey everyone,
I'm a big Runescape player so it was no surprise that I ended up looking after the high level players. Not only do I look after the maxed players and make sure they are listened to, but I also look after Club 99 which helps people get to the massive milestone of getting a skill to level 99.

Oldest console owned? Playstation One, still got it in the loft.
Last book read? Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams
What will be your key focus in your work role over the next few months? I'll be focusing on advertising Club 99 to the player base, we have loads of mentors and now we need some mentees for them to mentor. Exciting stuff.

As Mod Mat K points out I just joined Jagex to head up the Community Team. This is a very exciting time for me and I cant wait to get involved in the forums and game and meet as many of you as possible!

What will be your key focus in your work role over the next few months? It's going to be a very busy time for me over the next few months as I look to further build on the excellent work already being done at Jagex in the Community space. Some exciting changes will be rolled out and I cant wait to see them through!

I'm currently looking after all the Jagex games that aren't RuneScape. So that means War of Legends, FunOrb, 8Realms, Herotopia and Stellar Dawn! I have a great team and they all manage to keep me on my toes!

What will be your key focus in your work role over the next few months? Preparing for some very cool releases such as Stellar Dawn and Transformers and making sure both the players and the developers get everything they can out of the 8Realms Beta

Greetings all.
Most of you have probably met me in the various Jagex events over the last year or so. You might have set fire to my Wilderness Wyrm or even crushed my Zombie hordes as I tried to eat your brains at Halloween! If you've taken part in a big community event, chances are myself and Mod Karolina have been involved! I'm also involved with helping to support the Player Moderator community by organising Quest Help sessions and guiding them in their support of the community.

Coolest looking in game item? I'm currently sporting a very fetching combination of the ranged and magic armour dropped by Nex.

What will be your key focus in your work role over the next few months? Well my focus will be on releasing bigger and better events for our Community to enjoy!

I am the new Spanish Community Manager. I know I have a daunting challenge in front of me, and even though I still have a lot to learn, I hope I will be able to bring the Spanish community back to pace and for it to have the place it has always deserved!

What will be your key focus in your work role over the next few months? Getting a grasp of the needs of the Spanish community and trying to make them as happy and comfortable as I can, without the aide of a comfy sofa. And trying to prove that I am worth the investment Jagex has made in me!

I'm no longer on Mat's list so I thought I'd crash the thread anyway to explain why not, what I'm up to and what book I've just read
I'm still very much about and continue to wear the CM t-shirt (literally)with pleasure. I just don't get to hang out with the rest of the guys on a daily basis anymore though as I now spend a lot more time running about behind the scenes working on projects, upcoming products and ... stuff .
Unfortunately that does mean that I can't really divulge a huge amount of what I'm up to without the fear of waking up with a horses head next to my pillow and not being a massive fan of equestrian activity, that's not a road I want to trot down.
Anyway, to the random selection of questions:

My first focus is ofcourse the Scandinavian communities, and how I can best serve them I love to help out other curators in their roles whether it's conversing on Facebook, helping others on our forums or assist in events and competitions!

Greetings troops. For those of you that don't know me, I am Mod Captain (that might give you a steer as to my previous employment). I am the Team Leader for Community Engagement. Which means making sure you all have fun stuff to do in game - supporting new content, organising battles and tournaments, celebrating world holidays and also posing for pictures wielding a great big axe.

Ummm well I don't own an iPod - but my wife does! And fortunately she is banging out the soundtrack to BSG Season 4. In my CD player in the car I have the latest Iron Maiden album (and am seeing them in August)
