1. If you've not bought anything from the store yet, could you tell me why?
Don't have a credit card nor another way to buy them.
2. The latest t-shirts (the clan logo ones) are a bit of a change in tempo to the earlier stuff - they're limited edition and designed by monkeys for a start. What do you think? better? worse? different?
I don't understand the question , care to refrain or simplify the question?

This is a chunk taken from the Knowledge Base under
Home > Customer Support > Other > Moderators.
As stated...
5. How does someone become a Player Moderator?
"Player Moderators are all invited by Jagex. We take many different things into account when looking for prospective Player Moderators; we review personal gaming style and forum posts. We consider the validity of the player’s abuse reports and as well as how helpful and friendly they have been to other players in the game.
The likelihood of a player becoming a Player Moderator is not based on combat level or total levels. It’s very true that you will not see a player fresh from the tutorial given Player Moderator status, but it's also true that you may see some Player Moderators with lower combat levels than you are expecting. We do check accounts fully before offering them Player Moderator status, so if you see the crown, that player is someone great.
We don’t give out details on how close someone is to becoming a moderator, but rest assured that if you are a friendly, community-minded player we’ll be sure to notice.
If you are selected for a Player Moderator invitation, a message will be sent to your Jagex secure message centre inviting you to register with us through the Player Moderator Centre, so be sure to read any messages carefully. Once you have accepted and the confirmation has been received, you will get your silver crown and moderator abilities. Jagex never offers moderator status by external email, in-game or on third-party websites."

But to be honest, it's best to just enjoy the game. :) We all love helping our community, but there's more to community involvement than having power and flaunting a pixel crown. :P
Just log on, play at your own pace, and enjoy the game. ^_^
If Jagex thinks you are a positive and valuable asset to the RuneScape community, you may be chosen. But don't place bet on it. Jagex can't Mod every good player they see.

Childish images/sayings. Focus on some cool logos or designs that tie into Jagex. "Your mom" jokes are stupid and very childish to here.

To be honest, i don't /really/ want to wear a shirt that broadcasts to the world the fact that i play Runescape :P
Yes, unfortunately Runescape is somewhere near the bottom of the heap of "uncool". I don't usually care about being "cool" or "trendy", but i draw the line at Justin B, Rebecca Black, Twilight, and Apple products.
2. The latest t-shirts (the clan logo ones) are a bit of a change in tempo to the earlier stuff - they're limited edition and designed by monkeys for a start. What do you think? better? worse? different?
I like them, i think they're pretty cool. The cabbage shirt is utterly awesome :P

1. If you've not bought anything from the store yet, could you tell me why?
As the previous posted said, I probably wouldn't wear anything broadcasting the fact I play Runescape. At the bare minimum if I wore something like that I'd get some chavs shouting abuse at me.
No opinion on Q2.
Maybe you should try more accessories etc. I'd never wear a RS t-shirt, but maybe I'd like a cool model of Kree'arra on my desk, or perhaps I'd like to have a drink of coke from a glass resembling an overload potion (vial with black tainted glass?).
It's very cliche but maybe you could try board games too. How hard would it be to make RuneScape Monopoly? Community bank card - you found a note for 100 raw lobster, collect 200gp. Buy Falador castle 2k.
If you're still firm on doing clothing, maybe you could try something else. Perhaps people wont be (no offence to other products) so ashamed to wear an Amulet of Fury. Not only that but wearing an item irl that you also wear in-game could create that link where people feel like they are a part of/ in the game
I could go on. Thoughts?
