Hi.
Well, I've been playing RS for over six years. Due to a number of IRL factors I've been a member for 2 one-month periods. At the beginning because I was too young to own a credit card (the only payment available in my country back then) and later because the university and my friends were a bigger priority.
I believe the ever-changing dungeons are great for less active f2p players: we can keep playing with our rs friends and not get bored of it. This skill, minigame or whatever you want to call it, is one of the best things that could happen to RS. Really: it is fun, it is unpredictable, you won't get bored easily: this is not like "training". (Over 6 years and my combat is 99. I spent more time organizing Argentina vs Chile wars and pk trips than killing moss giants)
Also, uncertainty is a good thing. When I started RS we didn't know where the bank was. We were out there, just like in D&D, *anything* was possible. Now every piece of content FORCES you to know everything, they give you cutscenes and you don't have to figure out anything. That was not the spirit of the game.
Something that really p's me off and made me stop playing was the way in which you handle difficulty. Especially in holiday events. My first event was simple: go speak to Santa and get the yoyo. Done.
Now I had to spend over an hour running back and forth. That is not fun. One thing is to solve a puzzle (like monkey madness), which involves *thinking*; and another thing is clicking and clicking, over and over again to help a lazy bunny. If you make it hard, do it intelligent, do it fun, make puzzles, logical problems. The Amazing Race RuneScape Edition (tm) is not fun.
