The only reason I've voted for a much longer timer is that more and more of the recent content penalises you if you log out or are logged out before completion. You are kicked out and not compensated for the loss of reward.
This applies in particular to:
Stealing Creation
Fish Flingers
Dungeoneering
If a way could be found of compensating players who are kicked out by an update or, even better, restoring them in that activity, then the short countdown would become more acceptable again.

The countdown should be as long as possible to give the chance for everyone to finish what they were doing. So yup, I voted for 26-30 and in the second question - finish quickly what I was doing. I really don't like spending time doing something and having it interrupted like this. In so many cases this equals losing progress.

I'm with Gorix, although I have seen it a few times. I just put the option 5-10 minutes so the update can be finished as soon as possible. As for the second question I chose "finish up the activity I was doing".

I actually learned a few things from this poll though, I never knew there are certain worlds that open before others.

Keep up the polls, although I'm a free player I still enjoy them! :P

I actually have a feeling there's plenty of people who don't see the update countdown too often and so they aren't bothered and they think it's better to have this time minimised. But for many of us who actually play at that time restarting the server makes things very inconvenient. A lot of activities in RuneScape requires finishing or else you lose all rewards. People need the time. If they see the timer, they won't start doing something they can't finish. And those already in the middle of something can hopefully complete what they were doing. Unfortunately even 30 minutes isn't enough sometimes, because for example in dungeoneering completing a large dungeon can take an hour or so. But at least it gives chance to try to rush it. Or decide to exit it for now and go after the update. After all if you're warned 30 minutes earlier and that time isn't enough, you're probably not too far in the dungeon yet. But seeing a 5 minute timer when you've completed it mostly... Awful. This shouldn't happen.

If you don't happen to see the update timer, it means you don't play at that time, so why vote to have it so short claiming it's better to have the updates quicker? If you're not here, why does it matter to you they're a few minutes earlier?

Recently, it seemed after every update, that I had friends private message me about not being able to finish their floor in Dungeoneering. I wasn't actively practicing this skill at the time, but I could understand their frustration. :(

To help them out, I made a thread, "10 min warning". Now we have a poll. :) "Tick Tock Tick Tock". If you have never experienced an update, but would still like to vote, try to think what is best for the whole Runescape community, and vote with that in mind.

Many of the minigames are affected by the 10 minute warning, but it was Dungeoneering that brought the 10 minute warning's short comings to light.

Thanks for voting,
