I really enjoyed the "What's Your Motivation" poll. It was fascinating, and I think it helps give you guys at Jagex a better understanding of why us players play the game.
I said that I feel as though I'm really in the game, absorbing the culture and environment almost as if it was real. I think if Runescape one day became a game released on PC or other platforms, and the graphics were updated to make it look as good as games like Call of Duty and Halo: Reach and Star Wars: The Old Republic, the graphics that make it seem like it's a live action movie as much as it is a game, I'd definitely buy it.
I'm really into storylines, but I'm not into how the quests work. There are a number of different mini stories, which is really cool, and I enjoy that I can pick up at pretty much any point and that I'm not forced to continue questing indefinitely. But I'd be more into a main storyline with true character development, including stuff regarding the signature heroes.
I also enjoy the free-to-roam non-goal-oriented game play that Runescape offers. It's truly a diverse game that gives a little bit of everything for everyone, because we all have different tastes. I have friends who don't really play the game, they just sit and chat all day. I have friends who only go after the quest cape and train skills based on quest requirements. I and other friends are more interested in increasing skill levels and maxing out the total level.
If somehow Runescape could be implemented into an actual disc-oriented or online downloaded game with a real storyline(scratch the current quests, or tie them in with a new story line) and keep the freedom to train skills and earn capes at your leisure, I'd totally buy it.
