Its a good poll, got me thinking about RuneScape, why I play, how long I have played, Its a nice spark for thought.
I did see that you are interested in what makes us come back, and apart from character building and time spent on the account, the main factor is regular updates.
I have to admit, I love your updates, I am usually 100% supportive on your updates, and I really sympathize when it comes to delayed updates, but I think that something should be done to the update schedule to makes sure that there is always at least one piece of content releases once a week, so perhaps working 2 weeks back always may prove useful in updates and planning.
Basically, develop and test the content as if it was being released for a certain date, then add 2 weeks extra. That means that the content should be complete, or near complete 2 weeks before it is released. Then, its all down to fine-tuning or finishing bits off over the next 2 weeks to make sure it will be ready for an early week and scheduled release.
All these delayed updates are enraging the community, and would help to improve the update image that has slowly degraded over the past year or so.
I don't mean to put you guys down, you do a fantastic job of what you do, its just that lately the amount of delays and no-update weeks has been at an all time high, apart from that its a big thumbs up
Anyway, great poll again, look forward to more like this that make you think
Hope your day (or night) is treating you all well, and look forward to meeting lots of you JMOD's in 19 days at RuneFest
Hi Jagax
Just thought I would put my 2cents in. I love the variety of the game and the community, there is alway's something for me to do. No matter how I feel or what mood I'm in.
A couple of suggestions for up coming polls.
1. What mini games/activities do you like
2. Which mini games/activities do you dislike
3. Which ones would you like changed or fixed
B What Quest series would you like to see finished in the very near future.
I really liked this poll. It's a really good way for you people at jagex to indirectly judge how you're doing with the game and how people feel when they're playing it.
This newest poll was pretty good. I like how it was more serious than some of the other polls and it was interesting to see the results.
Some ideas I have for future polls:
1. maybe ask "what is the hardest skill to train" to find out which ones need help and which ones don't. seeing the difference between non members and members-only results would be interesting
2. maybe re-ask about those security devices to see if the general opinion has changed
I was wondering how people would feel about their Runescape account and this poll answers that question. Most of the times, the character seems to be like the player itself!
It was also interesting to see what keeps people coming back to Runescape. Regular updates, spent time and sense of achievement are the most important ones, according to the results. But I also like to organise events (for the Dutch community) or helping other people.
Or just chatting with other players, which can be fun too!
I'm wondering, will my submitted questions by mail get a chance in the next player submitted poll?
Initially, when I started playing 5-6 years ago, I started because a friend persuaded me to (practically forced me, to tell you the truth). That friend has since quit (
). At that point, I wasn't too sure about it. But slowly it grew on me. I began to love the game, the quests, the people, the skills—pretty much everything about it.
I still do love it all, to tell you the truth.
My main motivation nowadays, though, would be the awesome community, and the friends and clanmates I've made in the game. The game (I lost the game,
) itself is great, but I don't really have much time to play it, nor the computer to play it smoothly. But for the people whom I've met, I tend to make time to stop by every once and a while. Runescape would have to be the game with the nicest and most diverse community I've ever encountered (well, virtual community, at least). I can't say this with absolute objectivity or 100% accuracy, as I don't really know everyone or every kind of person who plays (for instance, I tend to avoid unsafe pvp areas and worlds, as I disapprove of killing players for personal gain, whilst them losing their hard earned items [they know the risks, so it's very illogical, I know,
]), but I can with confidence and faith in everyone.
